HOW IS OHIO COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION DIFFERENT FROM ITS COMPETITORS?

Rising Sun/Ohio County is somewhat unique in that it has one large employer, the Rising Star Casino and Resort with more than 500 employees. The Casino generates annually approximately $150 million to the area and the State of Indiana.
In order to expand and diversify its economic base for the long-term, however, the community is utilizing the significant current economic resources generated by the casino to aggressively undertake a joint city/county economic development program.

WHAT INCENTIVES DOES OHIO COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OFFER?

The Ohio County Economic Development Corporation ("OCEDC") works in conjunction with many incentive and assistance programs offered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.("IEDC")  Both the IEDC and the OCEDC are organized as a public private partnerships governed by independent boards that operate like businesses to respond quickly to the needs of businesses.
